President of the Company, Brad Domingue was formerly a medic with a large privately owned ambulance company. After several years of working as a medic, he enlisted in the army which led him to a yearlong tour in Iraq as a combat medic. He received combat medic badge, and several other military awards were earned in recognition for his bravery and outstanding performance. During his combat medic tour he recognized that the pre-hospital industry was in need of a splint that was faster and easier to use. Brad began envisioning and creating a splint that would not require the use of scissors and extra bandages. It was important to him that the splint would also fit in the combat medic bag or first aid bag with ease. Another requirement of his splint was that the material needed to withstand all weather environments like rain, snow, and mud. Lastly, the time to apply and shape the splint to any extremity needed to be minimal, especially in dangerous environments. When he completed his Army tour in Iraq, he began his research on the current splint industry and what he saw as flaws in each one. After receiving confirmation that there was nothing on the market that offered this to the pre-hospital industry he began the patent process. Brad tested several types of materials and designs before finalizing his product, making sure this splint was perfected and beneficial to all ranges of patients with injured extremity needs.
Brad, president of DASH Splints, was an acquaintance with Dr. Brad Boudreaux. In conversation, Brad Domingue mentioned his patent with Dr. Brad Boudreaux. Dr. Boudreaux related to the need for Domingue's invention due to his time spent working as an ER physician. Brad Domingue and Dr. Brad Boudreaux partner created DASH LLC . They are currently manufacturing splints and have made DASH Splints available to all areas of the medical field in the United States.
Our team consist of Dr. Brad Boudreaux, MD and a Louisiana veteran & medic, Brad Domingue. Both are very passionate about improving the treatment in injury situations and are excited to offer a better way to provide care to patients. The two medical professionals possess a wide range of emergency experience, including trauma care and first aid in both the civilian and military settings, as well as sports medicine.
The DASH splints allow medics/first responders/sports medicine trainers/teachers/coaches to apply a splint faster and easier than what is on the current market. They are also radiolucent, allowing the injured extremity to remain secure during X-rays.
Carrying two Dash splints should allow you to apply a splint for most patients you will come across in an emergency. This is very beneficial when being limited on space to carry splints, especially in the military environment or for first responders.
Can Dash Splints be used in sports medicine with larger athletes?
